The 1.1m EUR film will be coproduced by the Czech Republic’s Evolution Films and Macedonia’s Kino Oko. The Slovenian Film Center gave the film a grant of 515,000 EUR and Slovenian film studio VIBA has committed 50,000 in in-kind support.
Siska de Luxe is the name of a pizzeria opened by a trio of slacker misfits in their 30’s, with predictably frazzled results. The main characters have been cast, but the producer said some roles for foreign actors are open. The shoot will begin on 20 May 2014 with delivery in April 2015. Pavlin added that the film targets at the 18-35 year old audience and is expected to be a commercial success in Slovenia and other ex-Yugoslav territories.
