This October, Vilnius will host the first season of ‘UP!’, Lithuania’s only training program designed for emerging film producers seeking to launch their international careers. Taking place on October 6–10, the initiative will bring together seven promising Lithuanian producers for intensive training and networking opportunities. “UP!” is a satellite initiative of the Baltic Pitching Forum, the largest short film industry event in the Baltic States.

RIGA: The Ukrainian/ Norwegian project Missing in Action directed by Kateryna Holovko and Marharyta Melnychuk received the Baltic Sea Docs Award at the 29th Baltic Sea Docs.

HAMBURG: A total of 27 projects have been selected from a record number of over 240 applications for the 8th edition of the industry event European Work in Progress (EWIP). The event will be held in Hamburg from 29 September to 1 October 2025. For the first time, EWIP will be held in Hamburg as part of the Filmfest Hamburg Industry Days in cooperation with Filmfest Hamburg and Moin Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein.

The 29th edition of Baltic Sea Docs concluded in Riga on 7 September, after a week of workshops, seminars, pitching sessions, and screenings. The co-production pitching forum featured 26 documentary projects from the Baltic Sea region, Eastern Europe, and the Caucasus, serving as a vital platform for creative documentary filmmakers to refine their projects and present them to leading industry professionals.

been selected. 27 film projects were chosen from a record number of more than 240 applications. All participating projects are in the final stages of production and are on track to play an important role in the international film industry of the near future.

SIBIU: The acclaimed documentary event Astra Film Festival has announced the selection for its five competition programmes, including a new competition section, DocShorts. The festival will be held 17 – 26 October 2025 in the heart of Transilvania and Romania, Sibiu.

VILNIUS: The cinema chain Forum Cinemas will open the first cinema in Lithuania with IMAX technology in the biggest hall of Forum Cinemas Vingis.
