Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF, 15–25 October), one of the most prominent film events in the Baltics taking place in the capital of Latvia, has opened submissions for its 13th edition’s competitions. The festival is accepting entries of feature-length films from the Baltic Sea region, Nordic countries, and Ukraine until 30 June; these films will compete for the festival’s main award. Meanwhile, the deadline for submitting daring and bold short films from around the world is 31 May. VALLETTA: Viva La Madness, a new gangster film by Guy Ritchie, is currently shooting in Malta. It stars Jason Statham, Vinnie Jones, Ben Foster, Jonny Lee Miller, and Camilla Mendes.

The Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival CPH:DOX takes place this year from 11 to 22 March. Following an open call organised by the Estonian Film Institute, five Estonian film producers will attend the festival to present their projects, explore co-production opportunities, and meet with international funders, festival representatives and sales agents. The Estonian Film Institute will also introduce Estonia’s film funding and co-production opportunities to international film professionals.
