JIHLAVA: Here are the awards of the 4th Ji.hlava New Visions Forum (JNV Forum) held 30 – 31 October 2024 within the 28th Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival (25 October – 3 November 2024).

BUCHAREST: The Romanian Film Centre (CNC) has announced the first production grants for 2024 in the feature film, debut feature, thematic feature film, documentary and animated film categories. Cristian Mungiu’s new directorial project, Fjord, received the biggest amount of 703,538 EUR / 3.5 m RON.

The following grants were announced by the Romanian Film Centre on 29 October 2024.

TALLINN: Sixteen films, including six world premieres and two international premieres, will screen in the Baltic Film Competition at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF, 8 – 24 November 2024).

BUCHAREST: Romania is participating in the American Film Market taking place in Las Vegas 5 – 10 November 2024 with 16 companies exhibiting under Creative Romanian Film Makers brand.

110,000 EUR DISTRIBUTED TO DOCUMENTARY PROJECTS FROM SLOVAKIA, UKRAINE/POLAND, AND SERBIA

The second edition of Full Moon Creative Lab, a project dedicated to screenwriters specializing in genre TV series - thriller, horror, and fantasy - has ended the selection phase and identified three projects to be creatively developed over the course of three residencies. The Transilvania International Film Festival initiative is co-financed by the European Union and the first residency is scheduled to take place in December 2024 in Transylvania.

The German-Iranian-French co-production THE SEED OF THE SACRED FIG  by Mohammad Rasoulof has won this year’s Arab Critics' Awards for European Films, which is being presented for the fifth time by European Film Promotion (EFP) and Arab Cinema Center (ACC). The drama is also the German Entry for the 97th Oscars® in the “Best International Feature Film“ category.

BUCHAREST: Romanian writer/director Mihai Mincan is currently in production with his sophomore feature Milk Teeth / Dinți de lapte. This 2.3 m EUR coproduction between Romania, France, Denmark, Greece and Bulgaria is supported by the Romanian Film Centre, the Bulgarian National Film Center, Aide aux cinémas du monde (ACM), Danish Film Institute (DFI), among many others.
