BRATISLAVA: Young Slovak director Peter Magát is currently in postproduction with his debut feature Little Kingdom / Malá ríša. This Slovak/Icelandic/Czech coproduction in English is going to have its distribution premiere in October 2019. The film stars Alicia Agneson, British actor Lachlan Nieboer and American actor Brian Caspe.

BRATISLAVA: Low budget romantic comedy Loli paradička by Richard Staviarsky and Víťo Staviarsky ranked second at the Slovak box office this past weekend. The film premiered at Art Film Fest Košice on 16 June 2019, where it won the Audience Award, and it was theatrically released by  Forum film s.r.o. on 18 July 2019. 

BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Iveta Grófová is in preproduction with Ema and Death's – Head / Ema a smrtihlav, originally written and directed by Peter Krištúfek, who died in 2018. The film is a Slovak / Czech coproduction set for shooting in 2020-2021.

BRATISLAVA: The renowned Slovak documentary filmmaker Jaro Vojtek is in preproduction with his second feature film Anesthesia / Anestéza (working title). According to the producer Mátyás Prikler from MPhilms, the film is expected to be finished in the second half of 2021.

ŽILINA: The 12th International festival of animated films Fest Anča, which takes place in the North Slovak city of Žilina, announced the films in its four competition sections: including International Competition of Short and Student Films, International Music Video Competition, Competition of Slovak Films and International Competition of Films for Children. The festival will be held 27 to 30 June 2019.

BRATISLAVA: White Plastic Sky / Umelohmotné nebo, an animated/live action feature by Tibor Bánóczki and Sarolta Szabó, is currently in production. The sci-fi drama is produced by Slovakia‘s Artichoke and Hungary’s Salto Film.

BRATISLAVA: Renowned Slovak director Martin Šulík completed the last day of filming on his Slovak/Czech comedy Man with Rabbit Ears / Muž so zajačími ušami on 6 June 2019.

BRATISLAVA: Director Peter Budinský is in production with his debut film Heart of a Tower / Srdce veže, an animated adventure film. The story was writen by Patrik Pašš jr., and the film is produced by BFILM and coproduced by Plutoon, which started to develop it in 2013.

BRATISLAVA: The award-winning Slovak director Mira Fornay, whose second feature My Dog Killer / Môj pes Killer (CINEART TV Prague) won the Tiger award at the 42nd IFF Rotterdam, is finishing post-production on  the absurd drama Cook, F**k, Kill / Žaby bez jazyka. Fornay had been trying to get the film funded and produced since 2015.

BRATISLAVA: The creative documentary Elsewhere / Inde will screen at the 5th Slovak Film Week, the showcase of domestic production organised by the Slovak Film and Television Academy in Bratislava from 6 to 12 April 2019. The film was directed by Juraj Nvota and Marian Urban and premiered in the 25th edition of MFFK Febiofest in March of 2018.
