SKOPJE: Goran Trenchovski`s debut feature Golden Five / Zlatna petorka, about an event from 1951 when five students from Strumica were executed, is proving a success in Macedonian cinemas.

Golden Five by Goran TrenchovskiRevolution Production released the film in Skopje on 6 October and in Strumica on 7 October, selling over 18,000 tickets so far. This makes it the most watched Macedonian movie of the year. It is the most watched movie in the last ten years in Strumica.

Golden Five / Zlatna petorka has had 14 screenings in Strumica so far. It was released in two other cinemas last week. "My prediction is that is going to reach 50,000 admissions", Dejan Miloshevski, head of Revolution Production, told FNE.

The film was presented for the first time at the closing of the ICFF Manaki Brothers in Bitola and it had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Raindance in London.

The film was supported by the Macedonian Film Agency as a debut film.
