Polish critics award Erratum as top film of 2011

    {mosimage}WARSAW: Film critics of the Polish Filmmakers Association and FIPRESCI have chosen the best productions of the year.

    The official award ceremony for the Golden Tapes (13 March 2012) held at the Warsaw cinema Kultura is one of the most prestigious and the oldest of Polish film prizes. The Golden Tapes are selected by the film critics of the Polish Filmmakers Association (SFP, www.sfp.org.pl).

    The award for the best Polish production screened in Polish cinemas in 2011 was given by the President of the SFP Jacek Bromski to Marek Lechki for his film Erratum (www.erratum.pl ). A psychological drama about a man taking a forced journey into his past the film was produced in 2010 by Harmony Film Production in co-production with Heliograf (www.heligraf.pl) and Voiceland (www.voiceland.pl ). Erratum was backed by the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl) and distributed by Best Film (www.bestfilm.pl ).

    The film received high critical praise, especially for the performance of the lead actor Tomasz Kot. Director Marek Lechki received the Best Directing Debut Award during the Polish FF in Gdynia (www.fpff.pl) in 2010. The film was recognized with awards during several local and international film events including the Main Prize in the "1-2" Competition at the 2010 Warsaw Film Festival (www.wff.pl ), a Special Jury Mention at the "Flash Forward" section during the 2010 IFF in Pusan (www.biff.kr), and the FIPRESCI Prize during the 2010 IFF in Montevideo (www.cinemateca.org.uy ).


    The awards for best foreign film went to the year's Oscar winner A Separation directed by Ashghar Farhadie. The film was distributed in Poland by Gutek Film.www.gutekfilm.pl).
