KATOWICE: The Romanian coproduction Matei Child Miner directed by Alexandra Gulea and produced by Europolis Film won the 10,000 EUR main prize at 2013 Regiofun.

The 4th edition of the festival dedicated to productions made with the support of regional film funds concluded on 27 October 2013. The winning film is a coproduction between Romania, Germany and France made with the support of Film Fernsehfonds Bayern.

"I am very thankful and very proud to receive this award here. The region of Silesia reminds me of a region in Romania where we shot parts of my film. Poland and the Polish film market has developed so much in the last decade, I really hope that our region will have this chance as well because we have many talented filmmakers and a lot to show," Gulea said.

The festival closed with a screening of Roman Polański's Venus in Fur prior to its Polish premiere in November.

Regiofun handed out 25,000 EUR in prizes. The 5,000 EUR Audience Choice Award went to Dog Ear Films, the producer of The Great, a German production directed by Andreas Henn. An Honorable Mention in the Feature Films Competition was given Horses Of God.

The Mid-Length and Short Film prize of 10,000 EUR went to Solita Films for Internal Love directed by Cesar Estban Alenda.
