    GDYNIA:  Magnus von Horn's debut feature The Here After will compete in the main competition of the 40th Gdynia Film Festival (14-19 September 2015). The Polish-Swedish-French coproduction had its world premiere in the Director's Fortnight section in Cannes Film Festival.

    The films tells the story of a troubled teenager who is coming back to his community after serving some time in an institution for young law breakers. He plans to start his life anew but he has to confront the consequences of what he did in the past. Surrounded by anger and hate, he will need to find his new path in life. Magnus von Horn wrote the script.

    Ulrik Munther plays the main character and the cast includes Mats Blomgren, Alexander Nordgren, Wiesław Komasa, Loa Ek,Ellen Jelinek, and Oliver Heilmann. Oscar nominated Polishcinematographer  Lukasz  Żal is the DoP.

    The film is produced by Poland's Lava Films and ZentropaInternational Sweden in coproduction with France's Cinema Defacto,Film I Väst and  Poland's Opus Film. The film received financing from Polish Film Institute. Svenska Filminstitutet, Centre National du Cinéma et de l'Image Animée, Eurimages and  SVT. The final budget hasn't been announced. The film was developed at the international training programme for filmmakers EKRAN+ organized by Wajda Studio.

    The Here After will be distributed  in Poland by Gutek Film (www.gutekfilm.pl) starting 9 October 2015 . TrustNordisk Aps is handling the sales.
