TVP Partners with Polish Oil Company

    WARSAW: Public broadcaster TVP has signed an intention letter with PGNiG, a Polish state-controlled oil and natural gas company, stating that the two will work together on promoting Polish culture.

    The first project supported by PGNiG SA is a TV play People and Angels produced for the Polish Television Theater, a staple of TVP programming since the 70's. Polish Television Theater produces and broadcasts theater plays on TVP` and TVP Kultura, both pre-recorded and live from TVP Warsaw studios.

    PGNiG (Polish Petroleum and Gas Mining) is a Polish state-controlled oil and natural gas company which deals with the exploration and production of natural gas and crude oil, natural gas import, storage and distribution and sales of natural gas and crude oil. PGNiG is one of the largest companies in Poland and is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The PGNiG capital group reached over 2.1 billion PLN net income in 2015.

    "The patronage of PGNiG is a valuable and stable support for TVP in actions promoting the Polish culture, enabling long-term planning and realization of projects in this field," TVP told FNE in an official statement.
