FNE at Regiofun 2016: Will-o’-the-Wisp in Development

By

KATOWICE: Czech Director Vita Prochazka is in development with Will-o’-the-Wisp, a Czech fantasy film. Will-o’-the-Wisp was showcased at the Look for Fund meeting hosted by the 7th International Regiofun Film Festival.

Will-o’-the-Wisp will explore a world where humans and supernatural creatures live happily next to each other until a sudden famine arrives. When a kingdom suffers, anger always turns against “the strange ones.“ Will-o’-the-Wisp becomes their leader, even though she is the weakest one, but with the biggest determination.

"The film is produced by K-pictures with a planned budget of 852,000 EUR. Currently we are looking for coproducers and a sales agent. We initially planned to shoot the film in Czech, but international interest has been growing so we may need to switch to English," said the producer Jakub Kostal.

"It is a fantasy genre but we plan to create most of the magical sequences on set and not do everything with cgi. We plan to hit several target audiences and make it a film for the whole family," said the director Vita Prochazka.

Will-o’-the-Wisp is in the early development stages, with production planned for the second half of 2017.
