WARSAW: Kino Polska TV Group earned 64 m PLN in sales revenues and almost 36 m PLN of net profit in the first half of 2018. The record revenues for the company come from the Filmbox and Zoom TV channel segment. The Group is one of the leading providers of film channels across the region.
In the first half-year of 2018 the Group earned 64.40 m PLN / 15.01 m EUR in sales revenues, which is 9% year on year growth from 59.03 m / 13.7 m EUR PLN in 2017. The increase in sales revenues is most visible in the film and specialty channels segment that noted an 8% growth in comparison to the same period in 2017. The Group explains that the higher revenues come from increased broadcasting income in several markets including Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, the former Yugoslavian countries and Romania as well as record high 5.45 m PLN / 1.2 M EUR advertising revenues from Zoom TV channel, which is 118% growth in comparison to the first half-year of 2017. The Group noted a 38.16 m PLN / 8.8 m EUR of operational activity profit, a 363% of the growth in comparison to the first half-year of 2017, and 35.53 m PLN / 8.2 m EUR of net profit, a 470% of growth in the same period last year.
"We finished the first six months of this this year with a very good result. The revenues from our sales are systematically growing and all the segments are becoming increasingly profitable. Our Filmbox and Zoom TV segments deserve particuliar attention in light of these results. In comparison to the first half of 2017, the film channels from the FilmBox brand and our other specialty channels noted a growth in both revenues and ratings of the segment. Zoom TV, our most dynamically developing channel, noted almost a leaping increase in sales revenues in comparison to the same time last year. This segment is still in the development phase and that is why it still has not reached the planned level of profitability. Our goal is to keep Zoom TV on the growing trend in the commercial audience sector of the market." Bogusław Kisielewski, President of the Management Board said in an official statement.
