BANGKOK: Box office hit director Patryk Vega is currently shooting the crime drama Small World about child trafficking in Bangkok.

The script is co-written by Patryk Vega and Olaf Olszewski. "This production is an international project, where artists from different countries unite to protest against child trafficking. I hope that we will showcase this message at international film festivals. For me this project is an almost evangelic statement. I want to make it as a human being, not as a producer or a businessman. I can say that this film will be ten times more ‘hardcore’ than my previous films", Patryk Vega told FNE.

The international cast of actors includes Julia Wieniawa, Piotr Adamczyk and Enrique Arce, star of the Netflix show Money Heist.

Patryk Vega is producing through his company Vega Investments. The final budget has not been announced yet.

The film is shot on location in Thailand and Poland. Shooting is planned to wrap in March 2019. The film will be released in the second half of 2019. Phoenix Productions LLC is handling international distribution.

In 2018 Patryk Vega’s crime comedy Women of Mafia (Vega Investments) was a major success in Poland with over 2 m admissions. In the UK, where it was released by Odeon on 2 March 2018, it had a box office of 692,479 EUR during the first month, ranking 6th in the overall UK BO top ten for March 2018. Its worldwide box office is 11.5 m EUR.
