WARSAW: ATM Grupa (www.atmgrupa.pl) is producing an original new series, Higher Power, a comedy that will explore the spiritual life of Poles. Polish public broadcaster TVP (www.tvp.pl) has commissioned one season of the original Polish series written by Robert Butter and Jerzy Niemczuk.

"One can say that this is an attempt to create a comedy representing modern Polish spirituality - with a strong accent on the word 'comedy,' because we can be very funny with our search for the meaning of life in a post-socialist, but not yet capitalist, Poland," the screenwriters commented.

Shooting on the series started on 26 March in Warsaw and will last until late July. The shoot will also take place in a monastery near the city of Orneta.

The show is directed by Wojciech Adamczyk, an acclaimed Polish filmmaker and theater director. The cinematographer is Marek Trasowski. Higher Power includes an all star cast with Piotr Fronczewski and Piotr Grabowski as the lead adversaries. The cast includes Katarzyna Żak, Anna Dereszowska, Leon Charewicz, Sławomir Pacek, and Kamila Baar. The producers of are Maciej Strzembosz and Dorota Hawliczek, representing Studio A of ATM Grupa.
