PRODUCTION: Alvernia Producing Hollywood's Arbitrage

    KRAKOW: Alvernia Studios, one of the most modern Polish film studios, is co-producing and investing in Arbitrage, a drama starring Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon and Tim Roth.

    Arbitrage is a thriller about a millionaire on the edge of bankrupcy who tires to save his empire before all the secrets of his success see the light of day. The panicked buisnessman is played by Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon has been cast as his wife, and Tim Roth plays a detective trying to uncover the lies behind the fortune. The script was written by Nikolas Jarecki who also directs of the film. Shooting started on 11 April 2011 in New York.

    Alvernia Studios (www.alverniastudios.com) told FNE that all post-production will take place in Krakow. The company will manage digital special effects and sound post-production. The company is also a co-producer and investor in this title, which has a budget of $10 million. Producers for the film include Kevin Turen and Robert Salerno. The director is currently in a legal dispute with the U.S. company Infinity Media, an initial producer of the title.

    Currently Alvernia Studios is finishing another project for Hollywood, Vamps, directed by Amy Heckerling. The Krakow-based studio has produced all of the special effects for the production.
