PRODUCTION: New Shooting Schedule for Puzzle for a Blind Man

    BUCHAREST: Romanian director Andrei Zincă is expected to start shooting the adaptation of Argentinian playwright Mario Diament's Blind Datein May-June 2011, Bogdan Moncea, Marketing Manager of Castel Film (www.castelfilm.ro) told FNE. Shooting was due to start in October 2010.

    The film will be a Romanian production of Castel Film, with a budget of 1.5 million euro. U.S. actor Frank Langella is no longer slated to play the main character, as was previously announced. The premiere is now due in spring 2012.

    The project is supported by the Romanian public television (www.tvr.ro), and by advertising company McCann-Erickson (www.mccann.ro). It received a €350,000 grant from the National Centre for Cinema (www.cncinema.abt.ro).

    The shooting of Puzzle for a Blind Man/Puzzle pentru un orb will last five weeks. The Romanian cinematographer Marius Panduru (Police, Adjective, If I Want To Whistle, I Whistle) is the DOP.
