WARSAW: The latest autobiographical film written and directed by Patryk Vega, entitled Invisible War, will be released in Polish theatres on 30 September 2022, with Rafał Zawierucha in the lead. The film is currently in postproduction.

GDYNIA: Sixteen films have been selected for the Main Competition of the 47th Polish Film Festival and will compete for Golden and Silver Lions. Among them are three debuts and two second films. The festival will be held 12-17 September 2022.

WROCŁAW: Polish Days, the industry event hosted by New Horizons IFF, has announced the titles of 22 Polish projects that will be showcased in this year’s edition. The 2022 edition of Polish Days will take place 24 - 26 July 2022 during the 22nd New Horizons International Film Festival (21 - 31 July 2022).

WARSAW: After five years of working on the project, director Karolina Bielawska moves into development with her debut feature, a biopic inspired by the life of iconic Polish singer Violetta Villas. The working title is Violetta and the Woodpecker.

WARSAW: The Polish Film Institute supported 10 new feature film productions with 6,426,987 EUR / 29,887,500 PLN. Among them are new films from Roman Polański, Jan P. Matuszyński and Adrian Panek.

WARSAW: Quo Vadis, Aida? by Jasmila Žbanić won four awards including best film, best director and best script at the 24th Polish Film Awards - Eagles. It is a coproduction between Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Romania, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, France, Turkey and Norway.

WROCŁAW: Shooting is underway for Kajtek The Wizard directed by Magdalena Łazarkiewicz. The film is a Polish/Czech/Slovak coproduction based on a novel by Janusz Korczak, a pedagogue and teacher whose timeless work has brought up several generations of Polish children.

WARSAW: Polish box office hit director Patryk Vega is planning a film biography of Vladimir Putin. The production with the working title The Vor in Law is expected to cost 12 m USD.

WARSAW: Jacek Bromski has been re-elected as the head of the Polish Filmmakers Association. The director, screenwriter and producer has been running the association continuously since 1996.

WARSAW: Hellhole, a new horror film from the creators of Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight is in production. The premiere of the horror on the Netflix platform is scheduled for the autumn of this year.
