PRODUCTION: A Fold in My Blanket Begins Filming in Georgia

    Zaza Rusadze's feature debut A Fold in My Blanket produced by Zazarfilm (www.zazarusadze.com) began shooting 12 September 2011 in Georgia.

    {mosimage}The film received production support of 500,000 GEL (210,000 Euro) from the Georgian National Film Center (www.gnfc.ge ) earlier this year. With 35 shooting days, the film will wrap the principal shooting at the end of October 2011.

    A Fold in My Blanket is a drama set in a small Georgian town in the near future. The film uses a "thriller plot" that is interwoven with dreamlike narrative elements and tells the story of a young man, Dmitrij, and his quest to escape the conformity of society.

    A Fold in My Blanket was developed within the programme of the Binger Filmlab Amsterdam and subsequently received development support from the Hubert Bals Fund and Nipkow Programm Berlin. The project was pitched at CineMart 2010 in Rotterdam. Els Vandevorst, who has coproduced films like Winter in Wartime, Dancer in the Dark, Dogville, The Aviatrix of Kazbek and Adrienn Pál (winner of the FNE Visegrad coproduction prize), acts as an executive producer of the project and securing the European Postproduction Funds for the film.

    A Fold in My Blanket will be released in 2012.
