credit: National Archives of GeorgiaTBILISI: The National Archives of Georgia continue a large-scale digitalisation process that started in 2013. The institution managed to digitalise 250 film records in the first half of 2025, and also to launch several multimedia pages.
The film reels are transferred to digital using a 4K resolution film scanner.
Also in 2025, the Archives have digitalised approximately 6,035 photographs, 1.5 million pages of documents, and 150 audio recordings.
The digitalisation is accompanied by multimedia pages with digital collections, of which five are dedicated to film director and actor Dodo Abashidze, film actors Erosi Manjgaladze and Kakhi Kavsadze, poet Titsian Tabidze, and photographer Dmitri Mdzinarishvili.
The Film New Europe (FNE) Association is the networking platform for film professionals in the CEE/SEE/Baltics region. The webportal and FNE newswire was chosen as the MAIN TOOL to achieve the network’s objectives of the sharing of know how, visibility of regional cultural diversity and finally the VOICE of the region.
FNE’s objectives include VISIBILITY for the region and AUDIENCES for films by providing a special focus on the region.
