FNE Oscar Watch 2020: Montenegro Selects Neverending Past as Oscar Candidate

    PODGORICA: Neverending Past / Između dana i noći directed by Andro Martinović has been selected as Montenegro’s candidate for the 92nd Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the best international feature film category. The film is a Montenegrin/Serbian coproduction.

    Neverending Past presents three stories of a father and his son forced to question their lives and make irrevocable decisions in borderline situations, set in three different time periods: WWII, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of Yugoslavia.

    The film was produced by Montenegro’s Artikulacija in coproduction with Serbia’s Zillion Films, with the support of Film Centre of Montenegro and Film Center Serbia.

    The film has been selected for various festivals and received the Special Jury Award (ex-aequo) at the 33rd Herceg Novi Film Festival– Montenegro Film Festival, which wrapped in Herceg Novi on 7 August 2019.
