Montenegrin House of Culture in Bar Cinema Joins Europa Cinemas

House of Culture in Bar in Europa Cinemas credit: Film Centre of Montenegro

BAR: The cinema of the House of Culture in Bar, which functions as part of the Bar Cultural Centre – Homeland Museum, is a new member of the Europa Cinemas network and the only Montenegrin cinema taking part in the Month of European Film Programme (13 November – 10 December 2022).

In 2021, the cinema hall was digitalised by the Film Centre of Montenegro in cooperation with the then Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.

The membership in Europa Cinemas was considered for the first six months of 2022, when it was necessary to fulfil the required conditions.

Opened in 1976, the cinema of the House of Culture in Bar has 538 seats.

The Month of European Film is organised by the Creative Europe MEDIA programme in collaboration with Europa Cinemas, C.I.C.A.E. and Mubi.
