The film is produced by Documentary and Feature Film Production Company ( WFDiF, www.wfdif.com.pl). The film will be shot on location in Warsaw and Radom, with interiors filmed at the WFDiF studios in Warsaw.
You Will Never Know is set in a small town in central Poland after WWII, where the harsh reality of post-war life is the background of a universal yet fickle love story. Kidawa-Błoński focuses on a feeling that is so obsessive and invasive that it can make a man turn away from all his values and be capable of doing horrible things.
Kidawa-Błoński is an accomplished Polish director and film producer. A member of legendary Polish film teams "Silesia", "OKO", and "Zodiak", he headed the Polish Filmmakers Association (www.sfp.org.pl) from 1990-1994. Since 1991, he has been the president and co-owner of Gambit Production Film Studio. His most recent work Little Rose, also produced by WFDiF, is considered one of the best Polish films of the decade and was awarded the Golden Lions Grand Prix, Best Female Performance and Best Sound prizes at the 2010 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia (www.fpff.pl).
You Will Never Know gathers an all star cast of Polish actors with Magdalena Boczarska (praised for her work in Little Rose) playing one of the leads. The cast includes Julia Pogrebińska, Tomasz Kot and Krzysztof Stroiński. WFDiF told FNE that the budget of the picture is 4.9 million PLN (EUR 1.1 million), with 2,449,000 PLN financing from the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl) and 600,000 PLN from the Mazovia Film Fund (www.mff.mazovia.pl). The production company is currently negotiating with potential co-producers for this title.
The Polish premiere of the picture is planned for summer of 2012.
