PRODUCTION: Polish-Lithuanian Documentary Shooting in Malbork

    WARSAW: Filming for a documentary on the Teutonic Knights entitled Habit and Armour launched in Malbork on 20 October 2015.

    Habit and Armour, directed by the experienced documentary filmmaker Paweł Pitera,  will showcase the history of the order of the Teutonic Knights since their beginnings in the era of the crusades up to their fall and secularization in the 16th century with a special focus on the order's relations with Poland throughout that time. The film will include animation sequences and staged re-enactments.


    The film is produced by Arkana Studio in co-production with FDR, Artbox, LRT, The Malbork Castle Museum, MX35, Film Factory Studio and TVN. The budget of the film is 1.5 m PLN and the project received financial support from the Polish-German Co-development Fund, Polish Film Institute, National Audiovisual Institute and Lithuanian Film Center.

    The premiere of the film is planned for 2016.
