Cold War Nominated for César Awards

    WARSAW: Cold War has been nominated for the Cesar Awards 2019 in the Best Foreign Film category. The prizes are awarded by France’s Academy of Cinema Arts and Sciences. The gala will take place on 22 February 2019.

    The other films nominated in the Best Foreign Film category are: Shoplifters by Hirokazu Kore-Eda, Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri by Martin McDonaugh, Capernaum by Nadine Labaki, Girl by Lukas Dhont, Our Struggles by Guillaume Senez and Hannah by Andrea Pallaoro.

    Cold War has got three nominations for the Academy Awards in the Best Directing, Best Cinematography and Best Foreign Language Film categories, five awards at the European Film Awards 2018 (including the award for best European Film) and four BAFTA nominations, so far. The international career of the film started in Cannes 2018, where it won the best director award in the Official Competition.

    Cold War is a Polish/French/British coproduction from Opus Film, Apocalypso Film and MK Production. The coproducers are Arte France, Canal+ Polska, Kino Świat, EC1 Łódź - Miasto Kultury, the Mazovia Film Fund, the Silesia Film Fund and  the Podkarpacie Film Fund.
