LJUBLJANA: Admissions in Slovenia were up by six percent in 2015 compared to 2014 but domestic titles scored less than in the previous year.

According to Cenex, admissions were around 2,050,000 in 2015 (compared to 1,929,161 in 2014), while the total box office was approximately 10,200,000 EUR (compared to 9,543,871 EUR in 2014).

Three titles crossed the magic line of 100,000 admissions, whereas no title reached this number in 2014 (top ranked Rio 2 sold less than 70,000 tickets). The most popular title in 2015 was the US animated film Minions with 149,129 admissions, followed by Fifty Shades of Grey (136,163 admissions) and Fast and Furious 7 (112,603 admissions).

Year 2015 was less successful for domestic titles. The biggest achiever was Jan Cvitkovič's Siska Deluxe (Perfo Production) with 14,912 admissions, a step back from 2014 when Changing Emma (Almedia) had 29,444 admissions.

Distributors' shares also changed in 2015, so now the leading position is held by Karantanija Cinemas with approximately 4.6 m EUR gross, followed by Blitz Film & Video Distribution with 1.9 m EUR gross, Continental Film with 1.2 m EUR gross and 2i Film with 1 m EUR gross.
