PRAGUE: Director/producer/screenwriter Petr Jákl signed with the Hollywood producer Cassian Elwes for his epic biopic Jan Žižka, about Bohemia’s greatest warrior Jan Žižka of Trocnov. Jan Žižka is expected to be the biggest budget Czech film ever and to star a famous foreign actor.

PRAGUE: Julius Ševčík’s Czech/Slovak high budget period drama coproduction The Glass Room started shooting in the famous Tugendhat villa in Brno. This English-language film will be shot in several European countries with international stars such as Dutch Carice van Houten (Game of Thrones) and Danish Claes Bang (The Square). The cast includes Czech actors Karel Roden and Karel Dobrý.

PRAGUE: The World War I Danish/German/Czech drama In War and Love directed by Kaspar Torsting completed a week of shooting in the Czech Republic through Czech company Film United.

SKOPJE: Martin Ivanov and Ivica Dimitrijevic are in the final stages of postproduction with Digging / Kopanje, a low-budget independent feature film based on the text by German playwright Christian Winkler.
