TIVAT: Fiume o morte! by Igor Bezinović won Best Film at the first edition of the Adriatic Film and TV Awards, held at the Porto Montenegro marina in the Montenegrin town of Tivat.

NICOSIA: The Cologne-based sales agent The Match Factory has sold German/Cypriot coproduction All That’s Left of You to several territories including the USA. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2025.

ZAGREB: Croatian director Arsen Anton Ostojić is currently in final production and postproduction with what he calls “one of the most demanding and expensive film projects in the region”. His 3.5 m EUR 3D long animated film The Crystal Planet / Kristalni planet, a coproduction between the Czech Republic, Croatia and Slovakia, is backed by the respective national film bodies.

ZAGREB: Croatia’s profile as one of Europe’s most dynamic film and television destinations continues to rise, reaching millions of UK viewers this summer through two prime-time programmes: the BBC’s Destination X and Channel 5’s Rich Holiday, Poor Holiday. Together, both titles attracted nearly 40 million viewers and showcased Croatia’s growing appeal for international productions.

ZAGREB: Croatian director Ivana Škrabalo is currently in postproduction with her feature film Five Days at the Sea / Pet dana na moru, a coproduction between Croatia, Slovenia and North Macedonia.

HAMBURG: FNE spoke to Torsten Frehse, founder of European Work in Progress (EWIP) and International Film Distribution Summit (IFDS), as well as CEO of Neue Visionen Filmverleih, about the 2025 EWIP and IFDS, and the activities planned within it.

ZAGREB: Croatian director Mate Ugrin is currently in postproduction with Petty Thieves / Sitni Iopovi. The film is a coming-of-age story involving producers from Croatia, France, Germany, and Serbia.

VILNIUS: The French/Kazakh/Dutch/Lithuanian/Swedish coproduction Becoming by Zhannat Alshanova will have its world premiere in the Cineasti del Presente competition at the 78th Locarno Film Festival on 11 August 2025.
