Film Fund Sarajevo Starts Cinema Digitalisation Project

    SARAJEVO: The cinema hall of Cultural Centre Tomislavgrad is the first cinema which was digitalised within a project launched by the Film Fund Sarajevo with support from the Ministry of Culture and Sport and the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

    Another 12 publicly financed cinemas with a capacity between 100 and 300 seats are part of the project. These cinemas are located in Livno, Travnik, Kakanj, Bugojno, Gradačac, Goražde, Kiseljak, Žepče, Tešanj, Ilijaš, Cazin and Posušje.

    Danijela Papić, credit: Cultural Centre TomislavgradAll these cinemas, as well as the cinemas in Konjic and Maglaj, will become part of the newly established Association of Network of Independent Cinemas. The Network, made out exclusively of publicly owned and funded cinemas, will make sure that staff is educated and ready to begin screenings in the last quarter of 2023.

    “We are very excited and can’t wait to have the first film screening. Finally, with the new equipment we got, we will be able to have a film programme in our centre once again,” said Head of Cultural Centre Tomislavgrad Danijela Papić.
