OBITUARY: Croatian Producer Sanja Ravlić


    ZAGREB: Croatian producer Sanja Ravlić, a member of the team that founded the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC), passed away on 19 May 2023.

    Sanja Ravlić, source: ZFFDuring her time at the Croatian Audiovisual Centre from 2008 to 2017, she introduced public calls for the development of scripts and projects for films and television works, lobbied for international coproductions, and fought for the preservation of Croatian audiovisual heritage.

    In her earlier career, she worked as an editor in the Drama Programme of Croatian Radio and Television, as an independent film and television producer, and as a producer of radio programmes at the BBC World Service in London.

    She acted as the representative of Croatia at Eurimages and was one of the co-authors of the Recommendation on Gender Equality in the Audiovisual Sector adopted by the Council of Europe

    in 2017. She was a member of the European Film Academy, the Croatian Association of Film Workers and the Croatian Association of Producers.

    In 2018, Ravlić received the Albert Kapović Award for her outstanding contribution to the development and promotion of Croatian cinema.
