VALLETTA: The British production Compulsion by Neil Marshall, which is currently shooting in Malta, will generate over 2.3 m EUR into the local economy. The film, starring Polish actress Anna-Maria Sieklucka and British actress Charlotte Kirk, is shooting entirely on the island from 11 April to 13 May 2023, using the 40% Maltese cash rebates.

Among the 103 members of the crew 88 are local talents, and the postproduction will also be primarily Malta-based, with only 0.5% taking place abroad, according to a press release issued by the Malta Film Commission.

Compulsion is produced by Kristyna Sellnerova Ltd. in association with Cork Films, and it follows two women who get engaged in a series of murders in Malta.
