CANNES: The Cannes Critics Week and the ACID have announced their selections completing the final round of films for the Cannes 2017 lineup.

The Cannes Critics Week has selected 11 feature films, among them six first films and five second films. Ten short films will also be screened in official selection. Polish director Aleksandra Terpinska scores a slot in the Short Film Competition lineup with her The Best Fireworks Ever / Najpiękniejsze fajerwerki ever. The Critics Week, which runs from 18 to 26 May, continues its reputation as an edgy event running during the main Cannes programme.

The ACID programme screens The Scaffolding (Israel, Poland) directed by Matan Yair in its main lineup. The ACID programme this year also screens a special focus on Serbian film 19, 20 and 21 May thanks to a partnership with the Auteur Film Festival in Belgrade. Screening in this special programme is Requiem for Mrs J / Rekvijem za gospodju J, a Serbian/Bulgarian/Macedonian/Russian/French coproduction directed by Bojan Vuletić, which already scored a critical success when it screened in the Panorama section of the Berlinale earlier this year. The ACID Serbian programme also includes the already much awarded Humidity, a Serbian/Dutch/Greek coproduction directed by Nikola Ljuca, which screened in the main competition at the Sarajevo Film Festival.
