Slovakia Raises Film Incentives Featured

BRATISLAVA: New amendments to the Audiovisual Law have been approved, that will increase the film incentives in Slovakia from 20% to 33% starting 1 January 2020.

By approving the increase of film incentives to 33%, Slovakia will enter the club of EU countries most appealing for shooting, which include Romania (35-45%), Hungary, Poland, Estonia and the Netherlands (30%).

Slovakia’s 20% incentive scheme was established in 2015 and it eased its requirements starting August 2017. In 2018, the Slovak Audiovisual Fund registered 30 projects for audiovisual industry support.
