BELGRADE: Serbian filmmaker Goran Stanković is prepping the feature film Our Father / Oče naš for its world premiere in the Discovery section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (4- 14 September 2025). The debut feature is a coproduction between Serbia, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

BELGRADE: The Golden Tower for Best Film in the Official Selection of the 32nd European Film Festival Palić went to Sergei Loznitsa's Two Prosecutors. The film is a coproduction between France, Germany, the Netherlands, Latvia, Romania and Lithuania.

BELGRADE: Serbian helmer Jelena Bajić Jočić is currently in production with her sophomore feature Guardian of Icon of St. George / Čuvar ikone Svetog Đorđa. This Serbian/Bosnian “drama of tragic optimism” is expected to hit local cinemas in the autumn of 2025.

BELGRADE: Serbian six-part TV drama Absolute 100 / Apsolutnih sto will have its world premiere in the Special Screenings programme of the 59th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, which kicks off on 4 July 2025.

BELGRADE: Arthouse director Mladen Đorđević has completed the shooting of his fifth feature film Love Room / Ljubavna soba, a solely Serbian production supported by Film Center Serbia.

BELGRADE: Serbian director Darko Lungulov started the production of his fourth feature film titled 1970 , which is a coproduction of Serbia, Hungary, Croatia and Luxembourg.

BELGRADE: The filming of the 10-episode biopic Pupin directed by Danilo Bećković is underway on various locations throughout Serbia, with an international cast. The Radio Television of Serbia is producing.

BELGRADE: The first edition of the Balkan Film Directing Festival will be held 10 – 14 June 2025 in three venues in the very heart of the Serbian capital: the MTS Hall, Youth Hall Belgrade and Student Cultural Centre.

BELGRADE: London-based company Jinga Films has sold Serbian feature Sword of Vengeance by Nemanja Ćeranić to several territories including Japan, UK, Korea and Germany. Genre-wise this is a highly atypical film for the Serbian contemporary cinema, and it could be described as a blend of epic, fantasy, action and adventure.

BELGRADE: The Serbian music biopic feature Sunday / Nedelja, directed by Nemanja Ćeranić and produced by Telekom Srbija and Pelicula Production, strongly topped the 2024 charts in Serbia with 347,622 admissions.
