BELGRADE: Veteran Serbian and Yugoslav filmmaker Mladomir Puriša Đorđević is shooting at 98 years a new feature film. Mouth Full of Earth / Usta puna zemlje is based on the acclaimed bestselling novel from 1974 by Branimir Šćepanović and is expected to premiere by or around the end of 2022.

BELGRADE: Dušan Zorić and Matija Gluščević’s debut feature Have You Seen This Woman? / Da li ste videli moju ženu? is set to have its world premiere in the upcoming edition of the Venice Film Festival in the Critics’ Week competition programme.

PALIĆ: The 29th edition of the European Film Festival Palić, which wrapped on the evening of 22 July 2022, awarded its top prize to the Romanian/French/Belgian/Swedish coproduction R.M.N. directed by Cristian Mungiu. Close by Lukas Dhont won the Audience Award.

BELGRADE: The Association of Serbian Film Festivals (AFIFS) has launched a new award for best Serbian minority coproduction at the 29th European Film Festival Palić (EFF 16 – 22 July 2022). The award went to A Blue Flower / Plavi cvijet by Zrinko Ogresta, produced by Croatia’s Interfilm and coproduced by Serbia’s Zillion film.

BELGRADE: Firefly Productions is currently in production with the second season of the TV series Tycoon / Tajkun directed by Jelena Gavrilović and Ivan Stefanović. The first season premiered in March 2020 and it was the first TV series produced by Belgrade-based Firefly Productions.

BELGRADE: Film Center Serbia has announced its latest grants in several categories including minority coproductions. Altogether, 54 projects were supported with 1,225,306 EUR / 143,820,000 RSD.

BELGRADE: Serbian actor Rade Ćosić is currently in postproduction with his directorial debut feature Dead or Alive / Ko živ, ko mrtav. This buddy-buddy film / action comedy with aspects of a thriller is expected to premiere by the end of 2022 or in January 2023.

PALIĆ: The 29th edition of the Palić European Film Festival will be held in person in Palić and Subotica 16 - 22 July 2022, organised by the Open University Subotica.

BELGRADE: The Kadokawa Corporation and Tuttle-Mori Agency from Tokyo bought the rights for the comic adaptation of the classic Yugoslav and Serbian feature film The Bloody Fairy Tale / Krvavava bajka (1966), directed by Branimir Tori Janković and produced by Belgrade’s Centar Film back in 1969.

BELGRADE: Serbian long documentary The Long Road to War / Dugo putovanje u rat by Miloš Škundrić was released on Netflix on 28 June 2022. The first Serbian documentary released on Netflix will be available in 30 countries across Europe.
