KOŠICE: The 32nd Art Film Fest has announced the lineup for its International Feature Film, Short Film, and Central and Eastern European Films competitions. The festival will take place in Košice from 19 to 25 June 2026.
BRATISLAVA: Slovak actor and director Marek Ťapák is currently in postproduction with his TV film Crying without Echo / Výkriky bez ozveny (working title), an adaptation of the eponymous short stories book by Slovak author Milo Urban.
BRATISLAVA: The Slovak Audiovisual Fund has distributed 2,271,440 m EUR through 2026 as production grants for feature films, medium and long documentaries, animated films, TV series, and minority coproductions.
BRATISLAVA: The traditional Slovak Film Week will squeeze this year into the Slovak Film Day, which will take place on 12 May 2026 at Kino Lumiere in Bratislava.
BRATISLAVA: The acclaimed Slovak filmmaker Mariana Čengel Solčanská has started shooting her new project, the historical drama Autobus (working title). The story set during the Slovak National Uprising (1944) is a reverence to the founding generation of Slovak theatre and cinema.
BRATISLAVA: The most awards during the 15th ceremony of the Sun in a Net awards gala went to Slovak/Czech/Polish/Belgian drama Flood / Potopa, which won in six categories among nine nominations. Nevertheless, the awards for Best Feature Film and Best Director were given to Tereza Nvotova’s feature film The Father / Otec.
BRATISLAVA: The Slovak Audiovisual Fund gave out 4,444,920 EUR in 2025 for the production of feature films, long documentaries, long animated films, TV series, as well as minority coproductions.
