SKOPJE: A total of 13 Macedonian films shot in 2022 will be screened at the 5th edition of Golden Frame, which will be held 20-22 April 2023 in two locations in Skopje.

SKOPJE: The Las Vegas-based sales company OneTwoThree Media will manage worldwide rights to Macedonian director Kristijan Risteski’s debut feature Snow White Dies in the End / Snezana umira na krajot, starring Verica Nedeska and Nataša Petrović. This Macedonian/Cypriot coproduction, involving North Macedonia’s Vertigo Visual and Cypriot Caretta Films, premiered at the 2022 Slamdance Film Festival.

SKOPJE: The Happiest Man in the World / Najsrekniot čovek na svetot by Teona Mitevska will be released by Obala Art Center in Bosnian cinemas on 9 March 2023. The film already hit the French cinemas on 22 February 2023 (Pyramide) and it has secured distribution in Sweden starting 31 March 2023 (Folkets Bio).

SKOPJE: Las Vegas-based sales company OneTwoThree Media has acquired international sales rights to coming-of-age fantasy drama M and will launch sales at the European Film Market (16 – 22 February 2023) in Berlin. is a coproduction between North Macedonia, Croatia, Kosovo, France and Luxembourg.

SKOPJE: The upcoming drama Housekeeping for Beginners from Australian-Macedonian director Goran Stolevski has been picked up by Jan Naszewski’s Warsaw-based sales outlet New Europe Film Sales, which will present it at the Berlinale European Film Market (16 – 22 February 2023).

SKOPJE: US sales and distribution company Princ Films has acquired worldwide rights, excluding North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo, to Macedonian director Goce Cvetanovski's crime thriller The Business of Pleasure / Denotnazenata, which it is introducing to buyers at the Berlinale European Film Market (16 – 22 February 2023).

SKOPJE: Kinoverzum, which already operates one facility in Sveti Nikole, North Macedonia, has opened a new cinema in Veles, thus becoming the first national cinema chain.

SKOPJE: Kaymak by Academy Award-nominated Macedonian film director Milcho Manchevski finished among the Top 10 most watched films in 2022 in North Macedonia. According to cinema reports, admissions to domestic films increased drastically in 2022, but they are far from pre-pandemic numbers.
