SKOPJE: Eight titles have been selected for the Official Competition of the KineNova International Film Festival, whose 7th edition will be held 7 – 14 October 2022. The programme includes films from Romania, Poland and Serbia among others.

SKOPJE: Film director Ibër Deari has entered postproduction with his first feature film Everybody Calls Redjo / Site go vikaa tRedjo, which is produced by Sasho Pavlovski through  Manufaktura Production. The film backed by the North Macedonia Film Agency deals with one of the most current topics in the Albanian world today: the flight of young people into exile.

SKOPJE: The Academy Award-nominated Macedonian film director Milcho Manchevski’s seventh feature film Kaymak has been picked-up by LevelK ahead of its world premiere in the competition of the Tokyo Film Festival (24 October - 2 November 2022).

SKOPJE: Macedonian production company OXO released the first season of the sitcom House Arrest / Kukjenpritvor directed by Vardan Tozija. The first episode of the spin-off of the popular TV series Prespav, produced by OXO, aired on MRT1 and the VoD platform on 19 September 2022.

BITOLA: Ruben Impens, the cinematographer of the Italian/Belgian/French/UK coproduction The Eight Mountains / Le otto montagne directed by Charlotte Vandermeersch and Felix Van Groeningen, received the Golden Camera 300 at the 43rd edition of the International Cinematographers' Film Festival Manaki Brothers. The festival took place in Bitola from 19 to 26 August 2022.

SKOPJE: The Belgian documentary Eclipse directed by Nataša Urban won the Onion Award for best film in the main competition of the 13th edition of MakeDox Creative Documentary Film Festival. The festival was held in four locations in Skopje from 18 to 25 August 2022.

BITOLA: The 43rd edition of the International Cinematographers Film Festival Manaki Brothers will kick off in Bitola on 19 August 2022. A total of 62 films will be screened in several locations until 26 August 2022.

SKOPJE: American actor John Malkovich has announced his plans to build Stonebridge Studios, LEED-certified Hollywood calibre film, music and media studios, in Skopje's part of the Skopje Technology Park project.

SKOPJE: A total of 71 documentary films in four competition programmes will be screened at the 13th Festival for Creative Documentary Film MakeDox, which will be held in four locations in Skopje from 18 to 25 August 2022. The focus of this year's edition is on the development of ideas. Around 70 guests from abroad are expected to come to the festival.

SKOPJE: The revered Macedonian theatre and film actor Mitko S. Apostolovski died at age 67. He was a doyen of Macedonian acting and a longtime member of the National Theatre Bitola.
